Bio
David B. Davidson joined Miles Hansford Law Firm in 2026 as a Partner. He leads the firm’s Regulatory & Government Law and Land Use & Zoning practices, representing property owners, developers, businesses, and local governments in zoning and rezoning matters, alcohol licensing, regulatory proceedings, and municipal law throughout North Metro Atlanta.
David brings more than 30 years of legal experience, including 26 years with the City of Roswell, Georgia. He joined the city as Assistant City Attorney in 2000 and has served as City Attorney and Chief Legal Counsel since 2003, a representation that now continues through Miles Hansford. In that role he is the principal legal advisor to the Mayor, City Council, senior leadership, and every municipal department, and he oversaw the city’s Legal Department, its Risk Management Division, and the administration of Municipal Court.
His work for the city covered the matters that most often decide whether a project moves forward: rezonings and land use decisions, real estate development agreements, intergovernmental agreements, contracts and procurement, employment matters, ordinance drafting, and litigation strategy. He advised on economic development and infrastructure initiatives, coordinated with outside counsel across the city’s litigation docket, and worked daily with the notice, hearing, and open government requirements that govern every local decision in Georgia.
That background shapes how David represents clients now. Having spent more than two decades on the government’s side of the dais, he knows how planning staff evaluate an application, which conditions a council will accept and which it will not, where the evidentiary record has to be built, and when a matter is better negotiated than litigated. He represents applicants and opponents in zoning cases, restaurants and retailers in licensing matters, and cities, counties, and authorities that need outside counsel of their own.
Before joining the City of Roswell, David practiced with the Law Offices of David Jean Couch, P.C., where he handled civil litigation, dispute resolution, zoning, and appellate matters.
David earned his Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Auburn University. He is admitted to practice in Georgia.

When You Work With Us, You Feel Like You're Case is the Most Important Case
What truly stood out to me was their commitment to transparency and affordability
As we ring in a new year, I wanted to say that words cannot express how much I appreciate both of you, not only for expertly handling my case but also for the way you treated me throughout that entire rather extremely difficult time.
Mrs. Pittman of this firm represented me during my recent divorce. Her professionalism, knowledge of legal matters, and guidance/advice was top-notch. She was always quick to follow up on any question or issue that arose and kept me informed during all phases. Definitely recommend her and this firm.
I am not sure you hear this much but thank you for being a great person and amazing lawyer! You covered every detail and did it with compassion and intelligence! I still feel when some things come up I have all details covered.
