Jesse Van Sant

Jesse Van Sant’s practice focuses primarily on representing commercial and residential builders and developers in zoning and land-use matters before local governments, administrative boards, trial courts, and appellate courts in the northeast Metro-Atlanta area, including Forsyth County, Dawson County, Sugar Hill, Cherokee County, Woodstock, Milton, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Roswell, and Johns Creek.

Before joining Miles, Hansford & Tallant, LLC, Mr. Van Sant gained extensive experience representing counties, municipalities, insurance companies, and financial institutions in litigation and appellate matters. He also gained substantial trial experience in the areas of medical malpractice, nursing-home neglect, and catastrophic injury.

Originally from Dunwoody, Georgia, Mr. Van Sant received his Juris Doctor degree in 2007 from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he finished as a Robert E. Knox Scholar. He was named a 2016-2018 Georgia Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine and has been invited to speak at legal seminars sponsored by the State Bar of Georgia, several public risk-management organizations, and Connectionology Seminars of America. He has also served as the prosecutor for the Magistrate Courts of two Georgia counties and contributed to law review articles on topics relating to qualified and official immunity in actions against government employees.

Mr. Van Sant is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Court of Appeals of Georgia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Georgia, and in all of Georgia’s Superior, State, Magistrate, and Probate courts.
